|The juried arts and crafts committee for the Ruskin Seafood Festival is accepting applications from artists and fine crafts persons to participate in the 19th Annual Ruskin Seafood Festival to be held at E.G. Simmons Park on November 3rd and 4th 2007.
This juried art festival attracted 14000 attendees last year. In addition to the opportunity to display artwork, cash prizes will be awarded by the judge on the day of the festival based on artistic merit to those entering the juried arts section of the arts and crafts area of the festival.
Ruskin Seafood Festival Promises Fun for the Whole Family
The 18th Annual Ruskin Seafood Festival will be held on Saturday, November 3rd 10 am to 5 pm & Sunday, November 4th 10 am to 4 pm. The festival is being held at E. G. Simmons Park located at 2401 19th Avenue NW, Ruskin. The park is on 260 acres along Tampa Bay and provides a scenic and relaxing environment for the festival. The park is a natural wildlife, bird and botanical sanctuary.
Vendors will be serving seafood and other specialties. There will be a juried art show with some of our own local artists. The commercial area will showcase local businesses. The Children’s Court features activities for the children with games, inflatables and entertainment on stage. Live entertainment will be on the main stage and in the children’s area throughout the weekend. There will also be educational exhibits on the area’s unique environment and wildlife. A boat show will feature boats, equipment and accessories for all your boating needs. If you are not sure what size boat you want, this is the place to come look. All sizes will be there.
New this year at the festival on Saturday will be a Kids Costume Contest at 2:00 pm on the main stage. Early registration on the festival website and at 1:00 pm on Saturday before the contest. Another new addition to the market place this year is an upscale craft section.
Every festival has to have t-shirts and the Ruskin Seafood Festival is no exception. Look in the Chamber Booth for our Lucky the Lobster logo on t-shirts of all sizes.
Admission is $5, seniors are $4, and children under 12 are free. The Ruskin Seafood Festival is an alcohol free, family friendly, community event that promotes appreciation of the unique environment in the area. Funds raised support the Chamber of Commerce and its economic and community development programs.
There is free shuttle service to the festival entrance. Parking is free.
The Resort & Club At Little Harbor returns as Presenting Sponsor. Other sponsors are Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation & Conservation Department, and Hillsborough County Tourist Development Council.
